Employee Q&A: Manisha Kaur

30.4.2025

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since Manisha Kaur joined the InterFinancial team as our Marketing Coordinator! In just 12 months, she’s brought a fresh perspective, data-driven mindset and a can-do energy to everything she does, from campaigns and branding to behind-the-scenes systems that keep our marketing function a well-oiled machine.

As we celebrate her one-year anniversary this month, we sat down with Manisha to pick her brain about the year that was. The highlights, the challenges and what she’s most excited about next. Let’s dive straight in!

Can you describe your typical working day?

No two days are ever the same, which is something I really enjoy. My role involves juggling a mix of operational and strategic tasks, so I’m constantly switching gears. I love the variety because it keeps me on my toes and gives me the chance to learn a lot along the way. It’s a bit of everything, which is exactly what makes it so interesting!

Looking back on your first year, what achievement or project are you most proud of?

One thing I’m really proud of is delivering our lunch-and-learn sessions. It really helped boost my confidence, and I loved that it gave me the chance to share something valuable with the team. It’s been a great experience so far, and I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort zone

Working in a lean team, you’ve had to wear a lot of hats, from branding to automation and strategy. How do you stay on top of everything?

I rely on project management tools to keep everything on track. It’s crucial for tracking progress and making sure nothing slips through the cracks. Then, there’s also some tasks that are non-negotiable, so I make sure they get done no matter what. Lastly, I find that constant communication is key, and I’m not afraid to ask questions to clarify things. It helps me meet deadlines and expectations.

What were the challenges you faced in your role since joining the team?

One of the biggest challenges I faced was stepping into a role where I had some pretty big shoes to fill. It pushed me to quickly pick up new skills and get up to speed with an industry I hadn’t worked in before. It definitely wasn’t easy, but the team was incredibly supportive, which made all the difference. Fast forward to today, I’m really proud of how far I’ve come in such a short amount of time.

What do you enjoy the most about working at InterFinancial?

Without a doubt, it’s the team. Everyone here is open to ideas and suggestions, and we all learn a lot from each other. It’s a positive and supportive environment where everyone feels valued for their contributions. It’s just a nice place to be.

Looking ahead, what are you most excited about your role?

I’m excited about the opportunity to execute my marketing strategy that I’ve been working on recently. The best thing about working in a business like InterFinancial is having the platform to bring my ideas to life and make a real impact. I’m also looking forward to getting my skills certified by a professional body, which will be a big step in my career development.

And finally, what advice would you give your younger self?

I’d tell myself to trust the process and not to be too attached to any one outcome. It’s important to focus on learning as much as you can in the early stages of your career, regardless of job titles. I’d also tell myself to enjoy the ride as the journey is just as important as the destination.

From technical capability to economic inevitability: Why Clean Energy companies fail to scale?

Working with organisations attempting to commercialise clean energy technologies, I have observed a pattern persistent enough to warrant explicit articulation. Across hydrogen, electrification, storage, biogas, low-carbon fuels, and industrial heat, companies with credible technology, capable teams, and supportive boards still fail to compound enterprise value. Not because the technology disappoints, and not because the market […]

Not every healthcare deal is a sale: rethinking what M&A can look like

When healthcare business owners come to us thinking about a transaction, the conversation almost always starts in the same place. What is the business worth, and what does a sale process look like? Those are the right questions. But they’re not always the only ones that matter. Embedded in both is an assumption; that the […]

On the floor at EvokeAg 2026: Luke Harwood’s reflections on Australian Agtech

EvokeAg 2026 drew over 1,500 delegates from 18 countries to Melbourne in February, with the Federal Government committing another $450,000 to support the event over the next three years. The visible momentum is real, and the cohort of companies I spent two days meeting reflected it. Most were past proof-of-concept by a meaningful margin, with […]
