Employee Q&A: Nasia Christodoulou

27.8.2024

At InterFinancial, our strength lies in the passion and expertise of our talented team. Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Nasia Christodoulou, who joined us as a Research Assistant in January 2023 and has since progressed to Analyst. In this Q&A, Nasia gives us a glimpse into her daily routine, the challenges she overcomes, and the excitement that keeps her motivated. Whether you’re curious about a career in corporate finance or just want a sneak peek of life at InterFinancial, don’t miss Nasia’s post.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I begin my workday by planning out what needs to be done. I usually tackle the most important tasks in the morning when my focus is at its peak. My work varies daily, from research tasks like benchmarking to preparing pitch decks and attending client meetings. No two days are ever the same for me!

What excites you the most about your work?

What I find most exciting about my work is how stimulating and unique each project is. As no two companies are the same, this means every piece of work presents a fresh challenge and learning opportunity.

What are the main challenges you face in your role?

Despite being in the financial industry for several years now, I am still in the learning phase, and sometimes I come across concepts that are new to me. However, I’m fortunate to be part of a very supportive team that’s always ready to help and answer any questions I have.

Can you walk us through a recent deal you’ve worked on? What were the key obstacles and successes?

Negotiation is always a significant part of any M&A deal. It involves managing our client’s expectations and aligning them with the buyer’s offer. Recently, I worked on a deal where key items needed to be negotiated before granting exclusivity. Despite the challenges, we managed to secure the outcome our client wanted, which is always a good feeling.

Since joining the team, what are some of the valuable skills you have developed as an M&A Analyst?

I’ve learned a great deal since joining the team, especially in refining my research skills and gaining a deeper understanding of the art of a deal. Each day brings new insights and growth.

What do you like most about working at InterFinancial Corporate Finance?

It’s the people, hands down! We have an incredible team with diverse experiences and backgrounds, and everyone is knowledgeable and warm. It’s a fantastic environment to work and learn in.

Lastly, what advice would you give someone interested in a career in corporate finance?

If you have a genuine interest and a curious mind, then I say go for it! So much of what you need to know is learned on the job, and if you’re passionate, you’ll thrive in this industry.
