Sharon Doyle Managing Director

As Managing Director since 2009, Sharon has a wealth of international experience in merger, sale, acquisition, and private equity processes across various industries. Prior to working at InterFinancial, she was the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Integration at Mincom Limited, a global enterprise software company.

She regularly negotiates significant transactions in the infrastructure, resources and technology industries, leveraging her ability to define and prioritise the financial and non-financial objectives of the parties and work collaboratively towards a successful outcome. Sharon maintains InterFinancial’s commitment to appointing only senior, experienced advisors on each engagement.

This means InterFinancial’s clients receive valuable advice, guidance and insight in addition to efficient process management, while investing less effort in a more focused manner and realising superior results.

Paul Keehan Chairman

Paul has worked in the corporate finance sector for more than 25 years. Before joining InterFinancial in 1997, he worked for Merrill Lynch’s investment bank division, having previously headed the research department in a stock broking firm.

Paul’s speciality lies in valuation, pricing of and presenting companies in the best possible light to ensure they are trading at fair market value. Paul believes an adviser’s role is to take the stress out of an engagement for the client, which contributes to InterFinancial’s general ethos of achieving more for the client.

Ted Marchant Director

Ted has been a Director of InterFinancial since 1998. Together with his prior experience in banking and finance, he has over 30 years of experience in debt and equity funding, with particular emphasis in private equity at InterFinancial.

Ted was previously the State Manager of Bank of New Zealand Australia and a Manager at Marac Finance Australia Limited. He is highly experienced in commercial banking, capital raising, project finance, and impact investing. As a valued team member of InterFinancial’s successful mergers and acquisitions practice, Ted continues to ensure the interests of each client remains paramount during the transaction process.

David Hassum Director

David Hassum is a Chartered Accountant and Company Director with over 30 years experience across a range of industry sectors.  David has a technology background and commenced his career in the field of computer audit with KPMG. Prior to joining InterFinancial in 2004, David was a Partner at BDO.

As a Director of InterFinancial, David’s technology expertise allows him to focus on corporate strategy, commercialisation, and business development. Additionally, David’s experience in the transport, property development, building, and venture capital industries indicates his vast knowledge of all the elements required for a successful engagement.

For several years David has focused on providing corporate finance advisory services to the Food and Agribusiness (F&A) and Cleantech and Renewable Energy sectors. David leads the F&A team at InterFinancial and the Cleantech sector group for Clairfield International (our international partner). David’s considerable industry knowledge and connections in these sectors add significant value to our engagements.

Andrew Wheeler Director

Andrew joined InterFinancial in 2014, bringing with him a diverse commercial background in property development, construction structured finance, capital and equity markets, and general corporate advisory services.

Andrew gained his property development experience in South Africa, focusing on the redevelopment of industrial structures. Since migrating to Australia in 2001, he continued his focus on property development and related finance as Director at Novus Capital and Partner at Luminar International. Following the financial downturn, Andrew made a definitive change from property to the merger and acquisition market.

His current focus is capital raisings and business succession. Andrews’s key strength is his ability to qualify genuine opportunities and ensure expectations of all parties are aligned from the outset to ensure positive outcomes.

Mark Steinhardt Director

Mark has over a decade of experience analysing Australian equity markets. Mark joined InterFinancial in June 2010 as an Associate Director. His career started in 2003 as an Equities Analyst, specialising in providing research to institutional investors on listed Australian equities.

Following this, Mark worked for 18 months at Transpacific Industries, assisting the company through a major recapitalisation process and subsequently implementing an investor relations function. Mark understands that every business and transaction is unique.

Cathy Montesin Director

Cathy spent 15 years in the Transaction Advisory Services teams at PwC and Ernst & Young in Brisbane, Sydney and San Francisco, undertaking valuation, due diligence, financial modelling, capital raising and Independent Expert Reports for public, private and government entities.  During this time, she was the Queensland representative on the National Business Valuation Special Interest Group of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

More recently, Cathy led the Financial Planning and Analysis team at Cleanaway Waste Management Limited, Australia’s largest waste management company, operating a national network of collection, processing, treatment, recycling and landfill assets from over 200 locations across Australia.  During her time at Cleanaway, Cathy was responsible for the strategic planning, budgeting and reporting processes, the oversight of group capital investment, M&A activity and investor relations support.

Cathy has also spent time in the credit restructuring team at NAB, and worked as the CFO of a property company working towards an IPO.

Simon Douglas Director

Simon has over 11 years financial services experience working with mid-market companies across a of range of sectors. During this time Simon has helped numerous companies grow, divest or acquire.

Simon is also passionate about helping mature businesses realise the value in their company. Simon uses a deal team approach to work with key partners in the market to help businesses navigate and transition change of ownership events successfully.

His focus is on helping companies through event driven activity. Simon’s key strengths are his ability to work with clients to drive value and to balance the requirements of key stakeholders to ensure a fair and equitable outcome for all involved.

John Crossland Director - Debt Advisory

John Crossland has been appointed Director Debt Advisory at InterFinancial Corporate Finance Limited. He has over 30 years of experience in debt and equity funding, with a particular emphasis on financial restructuring.

John was previously the Director Corporate Lending for GE Capital and a Senior Manager at Westpac in both Australia and New Zealand. He is highly experienced in commercial and corporate banking, project finance, and recapitalizing and restructuring debt. As a valued member of InterFinancial’s successful Corporate Finance team, John continues to ensure that the optimum capital structure for every client is obtained during each engagement.

Angela Tillmans Director - Consulting

Angela Tillmanns joined InterFinancial in June 2017 after ten years in the community sector as CEO of CPL – Choice Passion and Life (formerly Cerebral Palsy League of Qld). In this role she substantially grew the organisation and prepared both clients and the organisation for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.  Before joining the community sector, Angela was a senior executive with the Federal Government involved with the delivery of human services. Angela’s 30 year career in the Federal Government prepared her well to work across all sectors of the economy to bring about societal change. Throughout her career Angela has been committed to creating better systems, in the broadest sense, for Australians to receive more integrated services that produce greater value for individuals and society at a reduced cost.

Simon Campbell Associate

Simon has five years’ corporate finance experience in both advisory and commercial roles.

Simon joined InterFinancial in 2016 from the commercial team of Glencore’s McArthur River Mine, where he provided corporate finance support to the mine’s CFO and Glencore asset managers. Simon has also worked in the corporate finance division of a big4 accounting firm and a boutique advisory firm, and has experience in project finance, financial modelling and due diligence. Simon has provided support on significant Australian projects, including Queensland Government’s $1.6 billion Toowoomba Second Range Crossing, Queensland Government’s $5 billion Bus and Train Tunnel business case, Transurban’s $7 billion acquisition of Queensland Motorways and the $600 million Queensland Schools PPP.

Craig Turner Associate Director

Craig has 10 years of experience in finance roles for both the private and public sectors, with a particular focus on the renewables and sustainability industry.  Craig joined InterFinancial in 2016 after 5 years as the Commercial Manager for a government owned sustainability organisation, where he provided commercial support and project management for the governments sustainability initiatives through partnerships with the private sector.

These projects included the feasibility and procurement of the Brisbane District Cooling system for Brisbane City Council and the award winning $6.5 million energy efficiency digital behaviour change program, ‘Reduce Your Juice’. Craig has also worked for a State government Treasury department, an international airline and in the corporate finance division of a mid-tier accounting firm concentrating on strategic business development, performance benchmarking, financial modelling and financial management.

Anthony Vago Associate Director

Anthony joined InterFinancial in 2017 after working for the Clairfield Group in Europe for the last 4 years. In addition to his corporate finance advisory background of 6 years, he brings a wide range of both international and industry experience to the table. He worked in Europe for over 20 years in multiple positions, including CFO at the European branch of CMR Industria e Comercio – a leading Brazilian textiles company – for 10 years, as well as private equity analyst at Bank of America and equity analyst at Bank Austria & Rabobank.

His specific skills include valuation, financial modelling, financial analysis & due diligence.

Jake Moyle Associate

Jake has over six years’ corporate finance experience in both advisory and support roles.

Jake joined InterFinancial in 2010 as an intern, and has provided support on a range of deals whilst helping facilitate our relationship with Clairfield International. He has progressed through the organisation, covering a number of roles and becoming a permanent, valued member of the professional team. Jake has experience in financial modelling, due diligence, strategy planning and transaction management.

Michael Kakanis Research Analyst

Michael has over seven years’ experience as a scientist and lecturer in immunology, medical biochemistry and physiology. Deciding to transition into Finance, Michael joined InterFinancial in 2017 as an intern, and has provided support on a range of deals. He has progressed to part time work, while continuing his finance studies; he is currently a Level III Candidate in the CFA Program.
